Internationalization

KIX supports the multilingualism of the user interface. The source language is English (en_gb).

For German-speaking countries, the German language library (de_de) is also supplied, so that the texts and designations for menu entries, buttons, help texts etc. in the delivery state are automatically translated into German if "German" is set as the user language. This also applies to the French language.

The language set for a user is decisive for the translation.

  • If no character string in another language is stored for a basic character string, the system references the English language.

  • If a character string in a different language is stored for a basic character string, the character string of the language assigned to an agent is referenced.

This applies to all texts and designations in the system as well as to all user-generated content (assets, asset classes, dynamic fields, notifications, etc.).

In the menu InternationalisationTranslations you can change and add to the patterns for the basic character strings.

Each user can specify the language in which they would like to work with KIX in their personal settings. The language is preselected when a user is created or edited.
