General functional elements

The structure of the dashboards in KIX contains general elements and icons that give you information about your tickets and quick access to central settings at a glance.

This is used to switch between the KIX modules. This gives you access to the dashboards of the individual areas. If you move the mouse pointer over the respective module item, its name appears.

  • modul_home.png Home Dashboard: Dashboard of the logged-in user

  • modul_ticket.png Tickets: Creating and editing tickets

  • modul_assets.png Assets (CMDB): Management of the company's own infrastructure and operating resources (assets)

  • modul_organisationen.png Organizations: Create and edit customers and contacts

  • modul_service-contracts.png Service contracts: Creating service contracts (KIX Pro only)

  • modul_faq.png FAQ: Management of FAQ entries (knowledge database)

  • modul_reports.png Reports: Creation and management of reports

  • modul_news.png News: Create and manage messages to agents and customers (KIX Pro only)

  • modul_admin.png Admin: Administration of the agent and self-service portal and any KIX Pro add-on modules

The available modules depend on the rights of the user who is logged in.

Contains the open dialogs in one tab each.

You can move the tabs in their order using drag & drop.

To close the tab, click on the cross in the tab or click on the tab with the middle mouse button  

pin.png A pin identifies the tab as pinned. Pinned tabs remain pinned after logout. Double-click on a tab to pin or unpin it. 

Note: To ensure that configurations are completed, subsequent dialogs cannot be pinned:

  • Create/edit job

  • Create/edit actions (KIX Pro)

  • Create/edit templates (KIX Pro)

  • Create/edit report definition

  • Import of organizations

  • Import of contacts

  • Collection campaigns

refresh.png The reload icon in the tab indicates a change to the tab content. Clicking on the tab again reloads the tab content and removes the icon.

Icon: arrow left black or The arrow buttons allow you to browse and scroll through the open tabs. To do this, click on the buttons (several times if necessary). Icon: Arrow right black

Icon: x black You can close all tabs by clicking on the cross on the right-hand side of the tab bar.

Here you will find the KIX header with logo and toolbar for frequently used functions.

Here you have the option via the drop-down menu

  • a new ticket

  • a new asset

  • a new organization

  • a new contact or

  • create a new FAQ.

If you switch to another dashboard, this button is assigned to the corresponding object, i.e. on the asset dashboard you will find the button Asset etc.

The personal toolbar provides quick access to frequently used agent functions:

  • Personliche_Werkzeugleiste-Ansichten-de.png Personal views (my teams, star/favorites, Kanban, calendar)

    • The T stands for "My teams". If you move the mouse over it, you will see your favorite teams and the number of tickets currently contained in the teams in brackets. You can switch directly to the corresponding team view by clicking on one of the teams.

      • Note: The favorite teams are set under "Personal settings".

    • If you move the mouse over the star, saved search templates are displayed.

    • The Kanban Board provides you with a simple overview of your personal tasks and allows you to organize your tickets.

    • The calendar is a personal calendar overview that shows which tickets are due soon.

    • Here you can access all tickets in which you are set as an editor.

    • An overview of all the tickets you are watching.

  • werkzeugleiste_gesperrte-tckets.png Blocked tickets

    • An overview of all tickets that are blocked for you.

  • werkzeugleiste_news.png News and error messages

    • Messages from the admin or the system are announced here. Click to open the message in a separate window.

Symbols with Image-info.png stand for tickets for which there are new items. The information without Image-info.png shows you the total number of tickets.

Notice

The links to the online help support voice control. This means that the URL to the manuals may vary depending on the language used. This may be necessary if, for example, you have created additional languages in the SysConfig key DefaultUsedLanguages. You can specify one URL per language in the following SysConfig keys:

  • KIX::SelfServiceManual

  • KIX::UserManual

  • KIX::AdminManual
